A Tribute to the MIMS Institute
WHEREAS, the MIMS Institute offers motivation and
preparation to minority male students in the Tampa
area in their pursuit of academic success, including
offering fellowship among students and parents and
helping parents learn about financial aid
opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the MIMS Institute provides guidance to
students participating in the program based on
individual student academic records, provides
opportunities for students to explore the nation's top
universities, encourages students to enroll in multiple
advanced placement classes, provides creative
community service programs, and celebrates student
milestones, including induction in the National Honor
Society; and
WHEREAS, the MIMS Institute helps motivate high
school students to continue their education at
America's top universities and, through its nurturing
environment and positive impact on the residents of
Tampa and the surrounding areas, is a shining
example of what commitment and service are
capable of achieving. NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESPECTFULLY PROCLAIMED that the MIMS
Institute is commended for its contributions to the
Tampa area and as an outstanding educational
assistance program.
